About Basement Brothers BJJ
Basement Brothers Jiu-Jitsu is a family-owned BJJ academy in Leland, North Carolina run by brothers Justin and Kyle Bennett, both black belts promoted in 2021 under Leo Dalla. They began training in 2012 in a family friend's basement - which gave the gym its name - started a garage club after moving to Leland from Virginia in 2023, and opened the academy proper in 2025. There is one adult class (ages 14+) every weekday evening, taught by both brothers together, and the school markets itself on being deliberately unintimidating and open-minded about each student's own game.
