About Pittsburgh Fighters Guild
Pittsburgh Fighters Guild is a HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) sword-fighting school at 500 Garden City Drive, Monroeville, PA, teaching historical European fighting techniques reconstructed from medieval and Renaissance fencing manuals - German and Italian longsword, Dutch dagger, Scottish broadsword and Portuguese Jogo do Pau among them. It runs adult classes across multiple time slots and a youth programme for ages 8-18 using protective equipment and specialised foam longswords built to feel like the steel training swords adults use, meeting Wednesdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 1pm. It was founded to foster a collaborative learning environment where members research and recreate the techniques found in the source manuscripts together.
