About Zanshin Martial Arts
Zanshin Martial Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community dojo at 1127 Broadway St NE, Ste 125 in Salem, Oregon, hosting many martial arts under one roof on a single membership: adult and youth jujitsu (with a Thursday Small Circle Jujitsu focus), judo split into technical and competition classes, Daitoryu Aikijujitsu Roppokai, Shindo Jinen Ryu karate-do, Shaolin Do kung fu, Filipino martial arts, Elite Tactical Preservation Skills, an Introduction to MMA class for teens and up, and open training on Sundays. Instructors volunteer their time free of charge, and tuition is deliberately low — $50 a month for an individual and $80 for a family, with no contracts or signing fees, plus waived tuition through work-study or scholarship for families in financial hardship. In partnership with the YMCA it also runs Parkinson's Fight Club, a non-contact boxing programme for people with Parkinson's disease, and a Veteran's Fight Club.
