About Paragon of Jiu Jitsu
Paragon of Jiu Jitsu in Wilmington, NC was founded by three longtime training partners - Jeff Sorbel, Robert Taylor and Brett Kostern - who started together as white belts and came up through the ranks side by side. It runs a kids' Jiu Jitsu program for ages 4-16 and an adult program for 16 and up, covering fitness, self-defense and competition, taught by four black belt trainers with a combined 55 years of experience. Brett Kostern is a two-time IBJJF Master 1 World black belt third-place medallist (2022 and 2024); Cris Dinofa also coaches.
