The gym was founded as Valhalla Combat Sports in October 2008 by James Clark — it operated as the Crystal Fight Club until 2013 — with the stated aim of combining good coaching with affordable prices. Its weekly practice schedule covers boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, striking/grappling sessions and open gym, taught by five coaches: founder James Clark (MMA and wrestling), owner Josh Clarke (striking), Marty Lindquist (boxing), Jacob Bunker (jiu-jitsu) and Ramsey Hass (assistant jiu-jitsu). Memberships are sold as unlimited striking, unlimited grappling or both, with drop-in and day rates for anyone who cannot commit.
