Southern Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a BJJ academy in South Portland, Maine, led by Checkmat black belt Rodrigo Ranieri De Faria. Faria received his black belt in 2003 from Paulo "Paulão" Rezende, trained alongside Marcelo Garcia in Minas Gerais, and moved to the United States to coach in 2008. The school offers a free introductory lesson for beginners and sells weekly and monthly membership cards.
