About Fifth Element Academy
Fifth Element Academy is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai school at 30 South Water St in Greenwich, CT, established in 2026. Its BJJ curriculum is banded into Intro, Core, Blue Belt, Advanced and Kids levels, with Core and Kids Muay Thai alongside it, plus fitness training. Head instructor João Pereira has over 18 years under Igor Gracie and is an IBJJF NY BJJ Pro and Boston Spring International Open champion who also works on motor skills with children on the autism spectrum; Muay Thai is led by Luis Gonzalez, a three-time New York amateur MMA champion and BJJ brown belt who has trained in Thailand.
