Europe's Biggest No-Gi Stage
The European No-Gi Championship is the continent's premier IBJJF no-gi event and the largest no-gi tournament on the European calendar. It's the no-gi counterpart to the gi European Championship, and for 2026 it returns to its Italian home just outside Rome.

PalaPellicone -- the Italian national judo and grappling arena in Ostia -- is the longtime home of IBJJF's European no-gi event. Divisions are spread across all five days, building to the adult black belt finals on Sunday, November 1.

Day-by-Day Schedule
IBJJF's pre-schedule (last updated September 21) puts the divisions on these days. The final schedule with start times comes out on October 26 and can still shift divisions, so treat this as a guide:

For the adult black belts, men's brackets of nine or more start on Saturday and resume with the quarterfinals on Sunday; women fight through the semifinals on Saturday. Every adult black belt final is on Sunday, November 1. Black belts need one predominantly white and one predominantly black rash guard for the quarterfinals onward.
The Storyline: Jaworski's Shot at the First No-Gi Grand Slam
IBJJF's No-Gi Grand Slam season opens with the World No-Gi Championship in December and runs through Brasileiro No-Gi and Pan No-Gi to the European No-Gi -- the season's final leg. Pawel Jaworski (Academia Gorila), the world's No. 1-ranked male no-gi athlete, has won the first three. Gold in Rome would give him what IBJJF calls the sport's first-ever No-Gi Grand Slam title.

The Ruleset
Like every IBJJF no-gi championship, the European No-Gi follows the no-gi rules: adult brown and black belts may use heel hooks and knee reaping; white through purple belts may not. Scoring matches the gi (2 for a takedown or sweep, 3 for a pass, 4 for mount or back). For the complete picture, see our No-Gi vs Gi rules guide.
Pro Tip: The European No-Gi draws a different competitive pool than the US-based Pan and Worlds, giving European-based athletes a major title to chase close to home. If you're traveling, Ostia is a short train ride from central Rome -- easy to combine the competition with a few days in the city.
Registration, Weigh-In and Ranking Points
Registration is closed: the event reached full capacity, with entry having climbed through IBJJF's usual price steps ($136, then $167, then $180 USD). Unlike the gi European Championship (which requires adult black belts to hold 40 ranking points to enter), the European No-Gi has no points barrier -- competitors of every belt could register, subject to standard membership and division rules.
Weigh-in is in kilograms, immediately before your first match, with one attempt only -- weigh in over your division's limit and you're disqualified from it. Adult black belt men in brackets of nine or more may weigh in on Saturday between 10 AM and 5 PM, even if their first match is on Sunday. Check your limit in our IBJJF weight classes guide. European No-Gi results count toward your IBJJF no-gi ranking at a championship weight of 4 -- the same tier as Pan No-Gi and Brasileiro No-Gi -- so a podium here moves your ranking significantly, including toward the 30 no-gi points adult black belts need to enter No-Gi Worlds. Registered? Check your name, team and division on the athlete list now. Once the professor correction period ends on October 21, only mistakes made by IBJJF staff can be fixed on check day (October 23).
How to Watch
The 2026 European No-Gi streams live on FloGrappling (subscription required) from Wednesday, October 28 through Sunday, November 1. FloGrappling lists the broadcast start as 4:30 AM ET -- 9:30 AM CET in Rome. Watch on desktop, the FloSports app for iOS and Android, or connected-TV apps such as Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV and Google TV; replays are archived for subscribers if you can't watch live.
Time-zone trap: Europe's clocks go back on October 25, before the event, so Rome is on CET (UTC+1) all week and sits five hours ahead of New York from Wednesday to Saturday. US clocks fall back on Sunday, November 1 -- finals day -- so the gap grows to six hours. Check Sunday's final schedule (out October 26) against EST, not EDT.
