About The Academy
The Academy is a family-owned Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA gym inside Rivergate Mall in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, opened by owner and head instructor Jason Matherley, a second-degree black belt, to give the town a place to train after years of driving an hour to practise. It teaches BJJ to children from age 4 and adults from 15, an MMA and striking programme for ages 12 and up drawing on boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai, and runs an on-site recovery suite with saunas, ice baths, compression therapy, red light therapy, a weight room and a physical therapist. The gym hosts the Bigfoot Grappling Challenge and operates a second location in White House, Tennessee.
