About Bridge and Roll - Jiu Jitsu and Grappling Academy
Bridge and Roll is the grappling academy of The KnifeHand Company, a veteran-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit based on S Aiken Ave in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The weekly timetable runs gi jiu-jitsu fundamentals and all-levels classes, no-gi all-levels, gi Judo fundamentals and Judo all levels, plus an open mat, all pitched at every skill level. The organisation's mission is to use grappling to build community among veterans, first responders, trauma survivors and underserved young people - veterans referred into the programme receive a starter pack with a gi, rash guards, flip-flops, water bottle and bag - and it runs alongside its Battle Buddy mentorship and scholarship scheme, a faith-based Rollin' 411 ministry with the Korean Central Church of Pittsburgh, and large Bridge & Rally community events.
