TKFMMA ("The Dragon Method") trains inside Shaw's Karate at 1921 N Pointe Dr in Durham, NC, offering ten martial arts styles under one $100-a-month membership with no contracts. Its classes span self-defense, fitness, striking (Tang Soo Do, Kenpo, Kung Fu, boxing and Muay Thai), grappling (Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo and wrestling), Filipino stick and knife fighting (Escrima, Kali and Arnis) and competition. All classes run 90 minutes except the one-hour stick and knife class. It is owned and taught by Sifu Mike, a professional mixed martial artist, cancer survivor and 7th-degree black belt in the Independent Escrima-Kenpo-Arnis Associates under Dr. Jerome Barber, who has taught over 11,400 hours since 2010.
