About Simmons Academy of Wrestling
Simmons Academy of Wrestling at 1109 River Street in downtown Lansing, MI trains wrestlers of every level in three styles — Greco-Roman, freestyle and collegiate — with an emphasis on fundamentals, speed and agility work, and injury prevention. It is led by Nick Simmons, the "East Lansing Strangler", a 4x NCAA All-American, 3x Big Ten champion, 7x US national team member and two-time Olympic alternate who was Michigan's first four-time undefeated high school wrestler at 211-0. He coaches alongside his brothers Andy (2x NCAA All-American, Big Ten champion) and Brad Simmons, and Ben Guiles, a Michigan USAW women's national coach with 15+ years of youth coaching. Practices run Monday to Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, and coaches travel to national tournaments with their athletes.
