About Michigan Combat and Movement Arts

Michigan Combat and Movement Arts in Lansing is a Historic European Martial Arts and stage combat school run by Steven M. Schwall, not a modern combat sports gym. Schwall has practised Historic European martial arts since 1974, competed in fully armoured tournaments with companies such as the Company of St. George, and has professionally choreographed over 150 productions for Michigan theatre companies; he became a Certified Teacher of Stage Combat in June 2016 and holds a Level Two Professors Certification. The school teaches historical combat systems from various cultures alongside combat-for-performance and dynamic movement training, and is working toward 501(c)(3) status.
