About 313 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

313 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy opened in the fall of 2015 on Grand River Avenue in Detroit, founded by Fabio Lima and Zander Heinen after they left the Marcelo Garcia Jiu-Jitsu Academy in New York, and it says it is the only official Marcelo Garcia Jiu-Jitsu Academy Association school in Michigan. Zach Mabey and Steve Pauley, both promoted to black belt by Fabio Lima, took over running the academy in 2023. Its programs are Fundamental BJJ, Advanced BJJ, no-gi, drilling, weekend open mats and a kids program for ages 5-13, with membership priced on 12-month, 6-month or month-to-month terms and $25 drop-ins bookable through Mindbody.
