About Ground Control MMA Owings Mills
Ground Control MMA Owings Mills opened in August 2009 and teaches gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing, boxing, MMA, kids jiu-jitsu and kickboxing for ages 4-12, and a wrestling club for grades 3-12. Classes run from 6 am to 8 pm so members can train around work, and membership is unlimited with no restrictions. Head instructor Ryan Mackin is a homegrown BJJ black belt, professional MMA and Muay Thai competitor, and a Maryland state wrestling champion and 2001 NHSCA All-American; the ten-strong staff includes a second black belt he promoted, three brown belts, a professional boxing trainer of nearly thirty years and a Muay Thai coach with a professional record in Thailand.
