Revolution Gym / Fight University at 10635 Floyd St in Overland Park, Kansas has been run since 1999 by John Brown — a 5th-dan black belt master instructor in both Taekwondo and Hapkido, a 3rd dan in Judo, undefeated in 20 NHB/MMA fights and Team USA U21 head coach for GAMMA. The martial arts side is a hybrid: Revolution Jiu Jitsu (gi and no-gi) on Monday evenings, Judo/submission grappling and MMA on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, hybrid kickboxing drawn from combat taekwondo, boxing, Muay Thai, Dutch and American kickboxing, plus a self-defense and combatives programme and youth martial arts from age 3 covering judo, submission grappling, wrestling, kickboxing, taekwondo and hapkido. Team Fight University competes in youth, amateur and professional MMA — its fighters have appeared in the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, Titan and Shamrock FC — and the facility also runs functional training group sessions, a Fight Fit circuit class and long daily open-mat windows.
