About One Community Jiujitsu Club

One Community Jiu Jitsu Club was founded by Ray Freeman, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Shane King in the Renato Tavares lineage who began training in 2015. Born and raised in Wyandotte County, Kansas and a former foster kid, Freeman built the club specifically to make jiu-jitsu accessible to underserved youth and families who face barriers to traditional sports, using it to build emotional regulation, discipline, confidence and belonging. The club has announced a new location at Full Throttle Fitness in Merriam, Kansas, and Freeman also teaches private lessons for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
