About Rising Phoenix Martial Arts Academy
Rising Phoenix Martial Arts Academy in Evansville, Indiana was founded in 1980 by Jeff Westfall, who has taught in the city since 1976. It runs two tracks: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and an Integrated Martial Arts program drawing on Jun Fan Gung Fu and Jeet Kune Do concepts, Muay Thai, the Filipino Martial Arts, the Majapahit Martial Arts and Erik Paulson's Combat Submission Wrestling, built around covering all five ranges of self-defense from weapon range through to grappling. Children's classes run three times a week, and the separately owned Yarger Fencing Academy operates inside the same building.
