About Clark's Self Defense
Clark's Self Defense is a Sarasota, Florida martial arts school teaching Kempo Karate, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and boxing to kids, teens and adults, founded and led by Derrick Clark, a 7th-degree Kempo Karate black belt with over 35 years of experience who also created the S.A.F.E. (Stopping Attacks Safe and Effectively) children's self-defense curriculum. Alongside regular classes it runs women's self-defense, private lessons, corporate and group self-defense seminars, in-house tournaments, virtual lessons, an after-school programme, summer camp and children's birthday parties. Its jiu-jitsu is split into kids', beginner adult and advanced adult Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, the last of which adds controlled sparring and submissions.
