About Trials Martial Arts and Fitness
Trials Martial Arts and Fitness (Trials MMA) is a Fort Collins academy founded in 2010 by IFL world champion Ryan Schultz together with professional fighters Ed Herman and Reed O'Malley; Schultz still owns and heads the gym after a 2016 ownership change brought in the Hardy family. The 5,000 sq ft facility has two mat areas and runs American Jiu-Jitsu, submission grappling no-gi, Muay Thai kickboxing, an invite-only MMA competition team, kids programmes (Kids AJJ, Little CHAMPS, CHAMPS) and the Rock Steady / B-Bold adaptive programme. Its jiu-jitsu program was built with 3rd-degree black belt Fabiano Scherner, who promoted several of the gym's coaches.
