About Kim's Tae Kwon Do Center
Kim's Tae Kwon Do Center has taught in Green Bay since Grand Master Yung Sam Kim opened the city's first Tae Kwon Do school in 1973, and now counts over 100 active black belts, 30 masters, 20 head instructors and more than 400 students. Master Penny Duggan, a 7th-degree black belt teaching since 1976, has led the school since 1993. Evening classes run Tuesday to Thursday 6:30-7:30 pm at the Redeemer School gym with a Tuesday afternoon home-school class, and satellite classes run through more than a dozen partner sites including the Kroc Center, the YWCA and the De Pere, Howard, Bellevue, Ashwaubenon and Suamico parks and recreation departments. Twice-yearly training camps cover forms, board breaking, step and free sparring, self-defense and judo falling and throwing, and a separate judo class is taught by Master Ed Manning, a 4th-degree judo black belt. Fees are notably low and the first class is free.
