Black Box Grappling Club at 557 S Birdneck Rd in Virginia Beach is a submission-grappling-only room — 'REAL SUBMISSION GRAPPLING. NOTHING ELSE.' — led by brothers Deandre and Gavin Corbe, ADCC-level competitors with over 30 years of combined experience. Deandre is an ADCC veteran, ADCC West Coast Trials champion, Sapateiro Invitational $100K champion, IBJJF No-Gi Worlds silver medallist and IBJJF Pan Am champion; Gavin is an ADCC Trials medallist on both coasts, also an IBJJF No-Gi Worlds silver medallist and Pan Am champion. The club runs adult and kids' classes plus strength and conditioning, cites Greg Souders of Standard Jiu Jitsu and Professor Nestor Bayot of Coastal BJJ as its coaching influences, and requires every prospective member to try the room before being approved to join.
