About Upstream BJJ
Upstream BJJ is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in downtown Richmond, Virginia, just off Broad St near VCU, founded by Richmond native and third-degree black belt Seph Smith. It runs more than 20 classes a week across six days: an Intro to BJJ course for complete beginners, All Levels classes for experienced grapplers, a weekly Marathon Roll of eleven five-minute non-stop sparring rounds alternating gi and no-gi, open mats, private and small-group lessons, and a kids program from age 5 that encourages local youth tournaments. Memberships are month-to-month with no contracts, and there are no fees for belt tests or promotions.
