About 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu West Valley
10th Planet Jiu Jitsu West Valley is part of the 10th Planet school in the Salt Lake City area, teaching Eddie Bravo's no-gi system. Head instructor Dr. Amir Allam has trained directly under Eddie Bravo for more than 15 years, going from white belt to third-degree black belt, and competes actively — a veteran of EBI and ADCC, winner of Grappler's Quest, NAGA, Grappling Industries and Gracie tournaments, and a member of the championship-winning Team 10th Planet at Quintet 2 — while also working as a research professor of geophysics at the University of Utah. The gym stresses that nobody is required to spar or compete and that latecomers are always welcome.
