About The Pit SLC
The Pit SLC is a youth and adult martial arts studio in Salt Lake City running two adult programs — striking (a blend of Muay Thai, boxing, kickboxing, karate and MMA striking) and no-gi grappling combining wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA grappling — plus youth no-gi jiu-jitsu (ages 6-12) and youth Hawaiian Kempo, each with its own belt ranking system. Classes are small and coach-led, and members are assigned to class times by experience level. Owner and head coach Ramsey Nijem is a jiu-jitsu black belt, third-degree Kempo black belt, Division 1 wrestler and UFC and PFL veteran.
