About Athlon Jiu-Jitsu

Athlon Jiu-Jitsu is an evening-only, gi-focused BJJ and MMA academy on Safari St in North Central San Antonio, founded in 2025 for teens and adults 13 and up and open Monday to Friday 5:00-8:30 PM. Owner and head instructor Jamie Miller is a 4th-degree black belt who began training in 1998 as a US Air Force TACP and founded Texas Powerhouse MMA in 2003; the academy is a Combat Base affiliate connected to Chris Haueter's lineage. Classes are gi BJJ at all levels plus fundamentals, beginner-friendly MMA on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, daily open training, and one-on-one strength and conditioning priced separately. The school markets itself as deliberately small -- no franchise playbook, no belt factory, no politics -- and is veteran-owned.
