About Sakubara Academy
Sakubara Academy at 2418 Beaumont Ave in McAllen, TX teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do and Judo to children and adults, with classes led by Hector Carrizales, a black belt with over 20 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo. The kids programme starts at 6pm and is built around self-defense against bullies and strangers, a "black belt mentality" and emotional development, with age bands running from Little Samurai for preschoolers through a kids competition class and an advanced self-defense class. Adults and teens train Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo in the evenings, plus an 8:30 AM Thursday BJJ class.
