About Houzn Jiu Jitsu Academy

Houzn Jiu Jitsu Academy in Mount Pleasant, SC is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym built around structured, fundamentals-first coaching. Kids train in four bands - Little Warriors (3-5, gi), Young Warriors (6-9), Warriors (10-12) and Juvenile (13-16), the last three in gi and no-gi - while adults train co-ed gi at fundamentals, intermediate and advanced level and no-gi at intermediate and advanced. It also runs two women's programs, Grace & Grit jiu-jitsu and Girl, Get Home Safe self-defense, a three-tier competition team (Prep, B and Elite), a homeschool program and private lessons. Head instructor Rafaello Oliveira is a former UFC lightweight and a 4th degree black belt with over 20 years in the sport.
