About Senzo Jiu-Jitsu Academy
Senzo Jiu-Jitsu Academy opened in Greenville, South Carolina in September 2024 and serves Traveler's Rest, Taylors, Easley, Five Forks and Simpsonville. It teaches gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to adults and children — the kids programme starts at ages 7-10 and has been expanded twice in the academy's first year — with a structured curriculum aimed equally at self-defense, competition and fitness. The name Senzo means "ancestry", a nod to the Japanese roots of the art and to the lineage of owner and head instructor Professor Nate Burnette, a fourth-degree black belt who spent more than 20 years in law enforcement and over a decade as head instructor of Synergy Jiu-Jitsu in California, training thousands of students and officers in jiu-jitsu, defensive tactics and firearms. A separate division, Senzo Training and Tactics Group, offers defensive tactics, firearms, vehicle operations and CQB training to civilians and first responders.
