About Gracie Sports Team
Gracie Sports Team - Macarra BJJ / Simrell Muay Thai in the Scranton area teaches gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai side by side, with adult all-levels classes, a kids' class for ages 5-12 and a teens' class for 13-16 in both disciplines. It is headed by James Simrell, a second-degree black belt in Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Marcio "Macarrao" Stambowsky, whose academy is an affiliate of Gracie Sports USA in Norwalk, Connecticut; Simrell is also a Master of Combat Sambo under Alex Barakov, holds Black Kruang and Kru level in Muay Thai, and is the PA and CT state representative for the United States Muay Thai Association. Brown belt Paul Walsh teaches the morning BJJ classes.
