About Renfrew Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Renfrew Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trains at the Mateway Activity Centre in Renfrew, Ontario. Established in 2015, it is an affiliate of Therien/Gringo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, one of Ontario's top competition teams, and the club travels to Orleans to train with the other affiliates. Classes run a functional warm-up, chained drills and techniques, positional sparring and live rolling, and members compete regularly in provincial tournaments. Instructor Jason Smith is a BJJ brown belt under Professor Ely Camejo (since 2010), a 3rd degree black belt in Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu and a CBET A and B certified wrestling coach.
