About Kempo Martial Arts and Fitness Center
Kempo Martial Arts & Fitness Center has taught in the Toledo, Ohio area since 1976, centred on Chinese Kempo — a system the school describes as drawing on Wing Chun, Tai Chi, kung fu, jiu-jitsu and karate. Alongside Kempo it runs Tai Chi, adaptive Kempo, yoga, a cross-fit and mobility class, Little Dragons for children, private lessons and seminars. Head instructor Sensei Tim W. Urrutia trained under "Mr. Leu" (a student of Modern Arnis founder Grand Master Presas), Don Euler and Richard Wyatt Gregory III, and worked with Mike Sherman and Thomas Nehring, the original founders of the Toledo Kempo school; the academy is owned by Sensei Heidi Jo McCarley Beck.
