About GriffonRawl Combat Sports & Fitness

GriffonRawl Combat Sports & Fitness is a 6,000 sq ft MMA academy in Mentor, Ohio, half an hour east of Cleveland, teaching MMA, Muay Thai, USA Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, a junior MMA programme and a women's-only cardio HIIT class. The building is split in two: a matted group-training side with six Thai bags and the pro shop, and a fight-team side holding the boxing ring and the cage — the official cage of the NAAFS, Ohio's main MMA promotion, which the gym also rents to local promoters. Its fight team runs to more than 30 active amateurs and six professionals competing at least monthly. The BJJ programme is taught by Jeff Starr, a black belt under Relson Gracie, three times a week, and head coach Jason Dent takes private lessons.
