About Open Source Jiu-Jitsu

Open Source Jiu-Jitsu is a deliberately unaffiliated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo gym at 357 Gorman Bridge Road in West Asheville, North Carolina, opened in 2017 by Bobby and Amanda McMasters. It runs gi and no-gi BJJ from fundamentals to advanced, a women's fundamentals class taught by women, kids BJJ for ages 4-7 and youth for 8-15, Judo as home of the Asheville Judo Club, a Friday rounds-only session and a two-hour Sunday open mat. Pricing is deliberately accessible: no contracts or memberships, all adult classes are drop-in friendly, and fundamentals, judo and open mat run on a pay-what-you-want basis, with work-trade options offered. The 1,378 sq ft sprung-floor mat space is also available for hourly rental.
