About Hoteikan Dojo

Hoteikan Dojo in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn teaches the Hoteikan System — Shotokan karate, jujutsu and judo — to students from age 3 to adults, and also runs cardio kickboxing fitness sessions. Classes are banded as Little Dragons (3-7), Kids (8+) and Adults, with a black belt club and an instructor and leadership development programme. The system has been established over 50 years and the dojo is led by Shihan Thomas Carrano, a 9th-degree black belt and USJA black belt who has taught for more than 35 years, trained regional, national and world champions, and founded the X-Treme Team Martial Arts League. It teaches no Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
