About Misfit Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy
Misfit Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy Westside at 3301 Coors Blvd NW is one of two Albuquerque academies run by the Martinez family, an IBJJF certified school built on Christian values. The Westside timetable runs adult gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu, kids' gi and no-gi split into beginner and intermediate groups, all-levels kids gi, and a Tiny Misfits class for the youngest children; the sister South Valley dojo additionally teaches Tang Soo Do karate. Coaching is led by black belts Alfonso Martinez, who trains under Daniel 'Coyote' Souza, and Kindell Martinez, who specialises in kids' classes, with brown belts Ben and Alyssa Martinez. All coaches are CPR and first-aid certified.
