About Dojo Omaha

Dojo Omaha runs youth and adult classes in two disciplines: Taijutsu, an open-hand fighting and grappling system taught with an emphasis on practical defence, and what the school calls American Jujitsu — Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — trained gi and no-gi with live sparring, plus open mat time used mostly by its jujitsu members. Adults train mornings and evenings six days a week including 5am and 6am classes and dedicated no-gi fundamentals sessions, and youth aged 6-13 train Taijutsu and jujitsu on weekday evenings with a Saturday combo class. The school describes itself as a passion project rather than a business, keeping rates below competitors, and every coach is a Dojo black belt giving back to the community. It is moving into a new facility with three competition-standard training zones, a training cage and a heavy bag area.
