About Unity BJJ and Biomechanics
Unity BJJ and Biomechanics, formerly Unity Wellness, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and biomechanics gym on Division Street in Springfield, Missouri's Midtown, founded in 2024 by Sam Palmer. It runs two BJJ paths - Palmer's beginner-friendly, self-defense-oriented BJJ Basics and Luke Shepard's early-morning Dark Wave MMA and Jiu-Jitsu for serious students - plus kids jiu-jitsu for ages 6-13, a Wednesday wrestling class, small-group biomechanics classes following Functional Patterns protocols, personal training and a Saturday open mat. Members get free use of the sauna.
