About Renzo Gracie Springfield

Renzo Gracie Springfield teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu on South Campbell in Springfield, Missouri, with gi and no-gi classes for adults, kids and advanced kids five days a week, a Saturday advanced no-gi session and adult open mat, and private lessons. It was founded by Professor Francisco 'Neto' Gomes de Sousa, a 4th-degree IBJJF black belt from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, who trained under IBJJF red belt Osvaldo Alves from 2000, earned his black belt in 2008 and is a three-time world champion in gi and no-gi; a friendship with Renzo Gracie led to the school affiliating with the Renzo Gracie Academy. He teaches alongside 3rd-degree black belt and IBJJF world champion Joe 'Papa' Harris and 2nd-degree black belt Professor Rogerio Vieira.
