About Aplomb Martial Arts Liberty
Aplomb Martial Arts Liberty is a dojo at 9761 N Cedar Ave in Kansas City, Missouri, near the I-291/I-35 interchange, drawing students from Gladstone, Kearney and Mosby; it is one of six in a Kansas City Kempo franchise created in 2020 by Glen and Janell Bartlett. It teaches 'Aplomb Kempo', the franchise's own system drawing on karate, Kempo, Shaolin kung fu, western boxing, jiu-jitsu and Chin Na grappling and tai chi, in adult, young adult and kids tracks, pairing weekly group classes with a personal one-to-one lesson. Sensei Daniel Heslop is the chief instructor; the dojo runs afternoons and evenings Monday to Friday plus Saturday mornings.
