Head instructor Mario Roberto, originally from Rio de Janeiro, moved to Rochester in 2004 and owns and operates the academy: a 6th-degree BJJ black belt promoted by the FJJ-RJ in 1998, a Muay Thai Kru, a judo brown belt, a former professional MMA fighter and Hook n' Shoot world champion, and a qualified physician — the school calls him the highest-ranking BJJ practitioner in Minnesota, and he has cornered students in the UFC, Pride FC and the WEC. The timetable runs BJJ Fundamentals, Progressive, Competition (blue belt and up), No-Gi, Muay Thai, and age-banded youth classes as Lil Cubs (3-6), Young Wolves (7-12) and Teen BJJ (13-17).
