About Alvarez Family Boxing

Alvarez Family Boxing is a family-owned, USA Boxing registered gym at 35 Congress Street in Salem, Massachusetts, open since 2020 and serving the North Shore. It runs group boxing, a slower-paced Boxing Fundamentals class, a women's group boxing class, a 6 am boxing bootcamp, kids boxing for ages 6-12 and youth boxing from 13, plus long open-gym blocks six days a week. Head coach and co-owner Eddie Alvarez has over 25 years in boxing and nearly 15 as a USA Boxing licensed coach, and has cornered fighters in the UFC and in pro boxing, kickboxing and MMA — the gym has worked with Rob Font, Calvin Kattar, Kayla Harrison and others. Co-owner Carley Alvarez is an ACE-certified personal trainer and board-certified health coach running the wellness side for women and teen girls.
