About Rising Tide Academy - Timonium

Rising Tide Academy is a Maryland martial arts group teaching authentic Relson Gracie jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai across five locations, with 1,250+ students, 10+ certified instructors and 20+ years of history. Its instructors hold black belts under Relson Gracie or his affiliates, and Grandmaster Relson Gracie visits the academies in person. Adult BJJ is split into Fundamentals and Advanced classes, kids BJJ into Little Sharks (ages 5-7) and Juniors (8-13) built around the three T's of self-defense - Talk, Tell, Tackle - and Muay Thai runs most days. Jiu-jitsu classes run six days a week, Monday to Saturday, morning, afternoon and evening, and members may train at any location.

Free classes plus a free uniform on sign-up are advertised as a limited-time offer. Gym attire is all that is needed for a first class and a gi is provided once training starts; nervous adults are offered a 30-minute private lesson instead of a group class, and first-timers are partnered with an instructor rather than another student.
