About Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Indianapolis

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Indianapolis (Gracie North Indy) is a certified Gracie training center rooted in self-defense rather than competition, teaching Gracie Combatives for adult beginners, the Master Cycle for advanced students, Gracie Bullyproof for children aged 3-12, Women Empowered and private lessons. Its Combatives programme has no competitive sparring by design and covers the 36 core techniques one standing and one ground technique at a time. Owner and head instructor James Fryer has over a decade in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — he began teaching as a blue belt, left a career as a mechanic for it, and opened the academy in October 2023 — and is explicit that his focus is real-world self-defense and turning bullied children into confident ones. Students get Gracie University online access and free satellite training at any certified training center worldwide.
