About McVicker’s Martial Arts
McVicker's Martial Arts runs two academies — Terre Haute, Indiana and Champaign, Illinois — with every class taught by Jack McVicker, a 5th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Wellington "Megaton" Dias and an IBJJF-certified instructor. McVicker has competed at black belt for more than 20 years and is a multiple-time IBJJF World Master, Pan, European Open and World No-Gi champion; teaching is his full-time occupation rather than an evening sideline. The Champaign academy on Round Barn Road offers gi and no-gi BJJ with a no-gi curriculum aimed partly at University of Illinois wrestlers and submission-grappling competitors, kids BJJ from age 4, and Jeet Kune Do / Filipino Kali, in which McVicker is a certified full instructor under Dan Inosanto.
