About Effingham Combat Academy
Effingham Combat Academy in Springfield, Georgia is a wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym that also runs striking, Muay Thai and children's Lil' Wrestlers and Lil' Fighters classes, presenting itself as a no-nonsense room for serious students. Its jiu-jitsu runs under Team 3 Jiu-Jitsu, the programme founded by Professor Sergio Machado — an Army Ranger who served from 1997 to 2008, survived burns to 20% of his body and two spine surgeries, took his black belt from Ricardo "Pantcho" Feliciano and opened Team 3 Checkmat in Ontario, California in 2010 — and the academy states it is honoured to represent him. Coach Boog heads the gym, with a dedicated BJJ coach and a coach for military and law enforcement students.
