About Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Sarasota (BJJ-SRQ)
Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Sarasota (GM BJJ-SRQ) is the Sarasota, Florida academy of the Gustavo Machado BJJ Association, on Main St downtown. Its curriculum is built around a 13-week BJJ Fundamentals programme for ages 13 and up, an All Levels class open to students who complete it, open mat, and separate Little Kids (4-6) and Big Kids (7-12) classes running Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Teaching is led by black belts Justin McQuown, a former military and government security specialist promoted by Gustavo Machado in 2018, and Luan Andrei Albuquerque, a professional grappler and IBJJF American National No-Gi champion who holds his black belt from Roberto 'Gordo' Correa and Marcio 'Pe de Pano' Cruz; association president Gustavo 'Guga' Machado is a 6th-degree black belt under Gordo.
