About Cies MMA
Cies MMA is a veteran-owned mixed martial arts academy at 2360 Montebello Sq in Colorado Springs, opened in 2016 by UFC veteran Mike Ciesnolevicz and his wife Barb. It runs adult gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, adult no-gi grappling blending BJJ, catch wrestling and MMA, Muay Thai and Dutch-style kickboxing with Friday light sparring, boxing, MMA, a fight team, a ladies-only programme on Tuesdays and Thursdays, kids BJJ for 5-12s with a Cubs class for 3-5s, kids striking, and anti-bullying work. The facility has 1,600 square feet of matting enclosed by operational cage lining, eight Muay Thai bags on a custom trolley rack, an athlete-only lounge for over-16s, a sauna, boxing area and Rogue weights. Mike Ciesnolevicz earned his BJJ black belt under 8th-degree coral belt Master Sergio Penha in 2015 and a black belt in the Miletich Fighting System under Pat Miletich, retiring from MMA at 20-4-1; the academy also owns its own MMA promotion, Guerrilla Fighting Championship, and its BJJ team has repeatedly taken NAGA and Grappling Industries overall team titles.
