About Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, CSBJJ
Colorado Springs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CSBJJ) is an affiliate school of 9th-degree red belt Rigan Machado, publishing its lineage as Jigoro Kano, Mitsuyo Maeda, Carlos Gracie Sr., Rigan Machado and head coach Bill Hosken. It teaches gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu alongside wrestling and kickboxing, with morning and evening adult classes, kids BJJ, a Saturday women's-only class restarted in 2024, a Sunday open mat, and special rates for military, first responders and couples. Founder Bill Hosken began training in Southern California in 1995 under Rigan Machado and his brothers among others, is Combatives Level 4 certified and authorised by the Army's Combatives School to teach Combatives Level 1, and deliberately teaches several approaches to each technique so students build their own game.
