South Valley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (SVJJ) is at 6403 Seven Seas in Bakersfield, California, teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a self-defense system to adults and children with 5:00am and evening adult classes six days a week and a daily kids' class. Its senior instructor Tommy Little is a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy black belt who started under Rickson Gracie in Los Angeles, trained with Bob Bass at South Bay Jiu Jitsu from 2001 and under Ryron Gracie at the Gracie Academy in Torrance from 2005, and won the 2006 Gracie Jiu Jitsu World Championship and the 2007 Pan Ams. The school also has a dedicated head kids instructor who runs a bully prevention programme, a separate judo throws and takedowns class, and a no-gi coach; new students get two free weeks.
